NIU Veterans Club > About us

The Veterans Club is a student-run organization comprised of military veterans currently attending Northern Illinois University. Veterans of all armed services are eligible to join our ranks, including members of the National Guard, Reserves or ROTC. The Vets Club is one of NIU's oldest student organizations, with a colorful history dating back to 1954.

The Veterans Club promotes academic excellence, but also strives to enhance our university experience with extracurricular activities. We are active on campus at NIU and within the DeKalb-area community. We plan a full schedule of activities each semester to give members every opportunity to break away from the books and have some fun. A typical semester includes athletics, nights on the town, parties, picnics, community- and veterans-related service events, participation in campus activities, and more.
