RECAP: Bowling Bowl 2004

There are many great moments in sports; Seabiscuit, the '67 USA Hockey team, Mark Spitz's seven Gold medals but, seldom has there been a victory as sweet as the Bowing Bowl of 2004.

The aging, injured faculty advisor single handedly taking on six young studs from the Army and Air Force - down badly going into the eighth frame. He steels himself and throws a badly needed strike. But, the A&A boys counter with several strikes of their own. In the ninth, knowing that the honor of the Navy and the Corps are at stake, he bowls a strike but again the A&A boys counter with strikes of their own. Then, in the magical tenth, he reaches down, does a gut check and bowls two more strikes to finish with a 149. The A&A average a mere 117.

The Navy and Marine Corps steals one! The Corps owes me!

- Jon Lehuta, Faculty Advisor, alum and Navy man
